Children First Organization, (CFO) is a registered Non Governmental Organization based in Kisumu, Kenya with the goal of supporting Early Childhood development (ECD) and Community health intervention measures. CFO operates its flagship ECD Centre that focuses on provision of foundational education to children within Nyalenda area, Kisumu County. Majority of the admitted children come from families struggling to hold together and as a result the school provides them with a safe sanctuary during the daytime, and in addition a strong foundational education. Education and poverty are inextricably linked — the more education one receives, the better their chances of boosting the individual and family income and transition out of poverty. Therefore, education is one of our core values that we implement as a tool to help break generational poverty, misfortunes and crimes among the children and families in our program. Our children’s current life trajectory will be shaped by many factors, including their families’ economic situation. However a coordinated effort must include practical educations that empowers them with lifetime skills to excel.
